Soapbox – Kiltwalk for Cosgrove Care

Soapbox Tartan Trailblazers to Take Part in Kiltwalk for Cosgrove Care

The Soapbox Team are delighted to announce that we will be taking part in the Glasgow Kiltwalk 2023 to help raise funds for Cosgrove Care.

On Sunday 30th April, our very own team made up of Andy, Hayley, Gary, and Hayley, will be donning a winning combo of kilts and walking shows and participating in the Big Stroll, a 14.3 mile walk starting in Clydebank and finishing on the shores of Lock Lomond in Balloch.

The Kilkwalk is a fabulous event that has seen over £37 million raised for Scottish charities since it first started in 2016 with people from all over the nation coming together to raise money for great causes close to their hearts. All the money raised by participants goes directly to their chosen charity, along with all additional Gift Aid (Up to 25% extra).

Our Soapbox team will be walking on behalf of Cosgrove Care, a wonderful charity that helps people of all ages across West Central Scotland to live independent lives. Cosgrove are only able to do the incredible work that they do thanks to the generosity of the Scottish public so please consider donating anything that you can to their incredible cause via our Kiltwalk Just Giving page.

Cosgrove care – Supporting Independent lives

There are many charities that do incredible work across the Glasgow area but there is no one that we would rather support through the Glasgow Kiltwalk 2023 than Cosgrove Care.

Cosgrove may be a small charity, but they do big things, providing the additional support needed for people in our community to live as equal citizens. They work with families and individuals young and old who have additional needs, and help to maximise the opportunities that they have through person led outcome focussed support, tailored to the needs and lifestyles of each individual.

Everything that Cosgrove do is built on their 4 key values:

  • Respect
  • Compassion
  • Integrity
  • Excellence

Everyone deserves to live a life where they get the chance to be themselves and pursue their own dreams and ambitions, and Cosgrove ensure that the most vulnerable within our society have that chance.

Cosgrove support a huge variety of people from all walks of life from children and young people to adults, and to those in later life. They provide individuals with up to 40 hours a week of assisted care, helping with everything from home care to leisure activities and work.

The impact that they have in our community really is incredible, but they can’t do it alone.

Everything that Cosgrove does relies on the contributions that they receive from the public, with each and every pound raised going directly towards improving someone’s life for the better.

What better way to show your support than by donating to our Kiltwalk? That way, not only are you helping change lives for the better, but you get to see our team suffer at the same time!

Cosgrove is an Autism Accredited and Disability Confident Organisation and abide by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) Codes of Practice.

You can learn more about the fantastic work that Cosgrove Care do by visiting their website, where you will also find information about other ways you can get involved and support their cause.

What is a Kiltwalk?

The Kiltwalk is Scotland’s biggest mass participation walking event with over 120,000 getting involved over the past 7 years.

Each year, a number of different Kiltwalk events are held across Scotland with individuals and groups decked out in their very best tartan attire completing challenging walks of various lengths to help raise money for their chosen charity.

In 2022, over 19,500 people took part in Kiltwalks in Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee, and Edinburgh with a staggering total of £8 million distributed to 1,261 different Scottish charities.

The Kiltwalk is generously underwritten by Sir Tom Hunter and the Hunter Foundation who have topped up fundraising by a staggering £12.5 million to date, bringing the total amount raised to a collective £37 million.

2023 is set to be the most exciting year yet for the Kiltwalk with events being held throughout the year in Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee, and Edinburgh.

The Soapbox team will be taking part in the Glasgow event on Sunday 30th of April, and participating in the Big Stroll, comprising a 14.3 mile route along the Clyde to the banks of Loch Lomond. This is sure to be a tough challenge for our team of trailblazers, but one they are looking forward to, kind of!

Why did we get involved?

As a company that operates right here in the centre of Glasgow, we are always looking for ways to give back to the community that means so much to us.

We regularly participate in community projects and charity fundraising events. Cosgrove Care do so much for people across the West of Scotland, but the support of the community is absolutely critical to their success and ability to keep providing the same incredibly high standard of people focussed support that they currently do.

Please consider donating anything that you can spare either through our just giving page or directly through the Cosgrove Care website. No matter how much you give, you can be sure that your contribution will make a huge difference to someone in the community giving them the equal opportunities that it is so easy to take for granted.

Soapbox have been dealing with all my fliers, websites, and vehicles graphics for over ten years now. Great guys, great team to work with. The guys always lend a real personal experience and are happy to keep me up to date with the digital side of things and help me put together design ideas for my marketing.

I had the pleasure of working with Soapbox Digital Media to design a website for my restaurant, Pendulum. I was impressed with their professionalism, responsiveness, and attention to detail. The end result was a beautiful website that has received positive feedback from customers. I highly recommend Soapbox Digital Media for anyone looking for high-quality web design services, especially if you’re a restaurant owner like myself.

We’ve received countless compliments about how professional and user friendly our website is. We’ve since been in contact with Liam who has created guides for us to be able to update the website ourselves as well as expand and develop the website as we grow as a company. It has been a very smooth and effortless collaboration with Soapbox and has given us a brilliant website which has increased our sales. We look forward to continuing to work with them in future as we grow and expand.
