The more we understand exactly what you want from your website, the happier you will be with the end product. A lot of this will happen during our meetings where we get to know you and your company’s needs, and in this blog, we will outline how you can help us understand you.
If you need a new website today, give us a call now on 0141 429 1356.
Three Factors to Inspire a Website
There are three main things that dictate what we build when it comes to delivering websites that meet all of your needs:
- Inspiration from other websites
- Specific features you require
- What you need to achieve
Look at Other Sites
Naturally, the first place to look for website inspiration is other websites! And an excellent place to start is your competitors. If you look through a collection of your competitors and notice the same trends and features, there is a good chance there is a reason for this.
Of course, we will work with you to come to our own conclusion, but these ‘industry standard’ features should always be discussed as a possibility.
It might also be the case that we notice an industry trend that doesn’t seem optimal or isn’t right for your business. Knowing we are going in a different direction is just as invaluable.
However, it is not just competitors that you should be looking at. We have a talented team of experienced designers and skilled coders – we can make just about anything a reality when it comes to your site.
There is nothing wrong with drawing inspiration from companies operating in different industries – consider how much Apple have revolutionised design throughout culture in general. Even if you just like a site, for whatever reason at all, let us know, and we can almost always borrow elements.
What Features You Need
Ok, so you have decided you want a website. What do you need it to do?
You would be surprised how frequently clients come to us without having really thought about what they need their website to do. This is fine, we can sit and work it out together, but the whole briefing scenario is more straightforward if you come in with a good idea of what features you need.
For example, do you need a booking infrastructure? Do you need a blog? Case studies? E-commerce capabilities? A contact forum? A gallery?
The beauty of the web is that we can make any and all of these changes at any time, and nothing is set in stone. We can add different features at later dates. However, things like this can dictate the overall design and so the earlier we know, the better.
Have a think about all of the functionality you need your clients to have access to before our initial meeting.
What Do You Want to Achieve?
The final source of inspiration for the design and layout of the website is what you want your website to achieve.
- Do you want your website to rank at the top of Google?
- Do you want the site to showcase your goods or work?
- Do you need your site to provide a lot of information to your clients?
- Do you want to increase footfall on your physical premises?
Websites are a vital tool for any modern business, but precisely what you want to achieve will dictate how we design and build your site from start to finish.
What you want to achieve is something that we can work out exactly in your meetings, but only you know exactly what your business needs. What we understand is how we can help.
