Social Bite are on a mission to provide 300,000 meals, gifts, and other essential items to homeless and vulnerable people across Scotland this Christmas, and they need your help.

Christmas is a time for caring and each year the Social Bite Festival of Kindness provides much needed support to homeless people and families across Scotland.

This year, the charity has installed five trees of Kindness in some of the UK’s biggest cities as part of their ongoing fight to end homelessness, asking the wonderful Scottish Public to bring along much needed items and place them under the tree.

Trees of Kindness can be found in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee, and London with gifts accepted up until the final collection on the 22nd of December.

Visit the Social Bite website to view the gift wishlist of items identified as having the biggest impact on those experiencing homelessness as well as a do’s and don’ts list for donating physical gifts.

Toiletries, warm clothes, shoes, thermos flasks, bedding sets, and electronics are just some of the items on the list.

At Soapbox, our Glasgow team have taken up the challenge bringing in gift bags packed with toiletries, warm clothes, duvets, and much more over the last few weeks.

We couldn’t think of a better cause to support this festive season and would encourage absolutely anyone who is able to get involved with this fantastic initiative.

Buy a Virtual Gift

If you aren’t able to visit one of the physical trees located across Scotland before the final collection on the 22nd of December, don’t worry, you can still get involved.

Virtual gifts can be purchased via the Social Bite Website and provide an opportunity for absolutely anyone to donate to this vital cause, no matter where they live in the world.

With gifts starting at just £5 for a Christmas dinner and donations of any size much welcome, every little really does help.

Why Did We Get Involved?

As a company that was born and raised in Glasgow, we care deeply about the city. No-one in our city should ever find themselves without a place to live and we are committed to doing whatever we can to support charities such as Social Bite in their fight against homelessness.

We would encourage any individual or business to do the same as only a collective effort from all in the community and beyond will have a chance of ending homelessness once and for all.

The great thing about the Christmas of Kindness campaign is that every little really does count and there is something on the gift wish list for every budget from soap and gloves to a laptop or mobile phone.

We know this is a tough time of year for many and it is testament to the incredible people of Glasgow that this campaign, among many others, sees such incredible support and generosity year after year.

Whilst this campaign is a great opportunity to get involved, Social Bite require support all year round to fund their crucial projects and fundraising efforts.

From one off or monthly donations to volunteering or even leaving a gift in your will, there are so many ways to get involved and do your part in the fight against homelessness.
