For the third year running, Soapbox Digital Media and fellow local Glasgow business Pest Solutions have teamed up for our annual Easter Egg Appeal for Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS).
Easter is all about traditions, and we think this is a pretty good one, with staff and customers from both companies coming together to create a mountain of chocolatey donations.
The temptation of so many goodies in the corner of the shop certainly tested the resolve of our office team but these eggs had a much more important destination than our own bellies!
The eggs have now made their way down the A82 to our friends down at Robin House Children’s Hospice, where we hope they will thoroughly enjoyed over the Easter period.
It was a lovely surprise to receive an absolutely fabulous thankyou card upon delivery with a design that puts our own graphic design team to shame!
A massive thank you to everyone who got involved and we urge anyone and everyone to learn more about what CHAS do and to support them in any way that you can by visiting their website: https://www.chas.org.uk/support-us/ways-to-give/ways-to-donate.
Why did we choose CHAS?
CHAS are a local charity who operate Scotland’s only 24/7 palliative care hospices for children and young people with life shortening conditions, Robin House in Balloch and Rachel House in Kinross.
They also provide invaluable home support to those at home who are unable to attend the hospice and to the families of those under their care.
They have a truly remarkable team of nurses, physios, support workers and social workers working around the clock to care for those with the most devastating of conditions including heart failure, cancer, neurological conditions and more.
CHAS was founded over 30 years ago and has always been built on one fundamental belief that every single child deserves a life filled with joy and excitement, no matter how long that life may be.
If we can contribute in even the smallest of ways to that goal through the power of chocolate, then this initiative is more than worth it and we look forward to doing it all over again next year.
How can you support CHAS?
We all love chocolate, but CHAS relies on donations a bit more substantial to provide the invaluable services they do to Children and their families across Scotland.
Running multiple 24/7 hospices, conducting regular home visits, and maintaining the highest possible standard of care at all times requires a significant amount of funding, and only a portion of this funding comes from the Government.
Without public support, CHAS simply wouldn’t exist and are only able to do what they do thanks to an army of volunteers and the kind donations of the ever generous Scottish public (and supporters across the globe).
When you donate to CHAS, you know that every single penny will be used in the best possible way, and we would encourage anyone who can to get involved in the best way they see fit.
