Local Glasgow businesses Pest Solutions and Soapbox Digital Media have teamed up to donate a mountain of chocolate Easter eggs to Children’s Hospices Across Scotland.
Over the last few weeks staff and clients from both companies have been bringing Easter eggs into our premises, leading to a pile of chocolate that has left many of our office staff drooling.
Fortunately, the eggs are going to a much better cause! CHAS provide full-time care to children and young people with life threatening conditions and their families, ensuring that every single day is as full of joy and happiness as possible for, however long they have left together.
If our campaign can put a smile on the faces of a few young people facing extremely difficult circumstances, we would be absolutely delighted, and if the amount of chocolate donated by our incredible team is anything to go by, there will be a lot more than a few smiles this easter!
The eggs were recently dropped off to CHAS by Derek, one of the key team members at Pest Solutions and the charity were very grateful for the contribution. The idea for the campaign itself came directly from another of our fantastic staff, Siobhan Quinn, who only recently joined the Pest Solutions office team but has already bought into the community ethos of the company.
Why CHAS?
CHAS currently operate two full-time Children’s hospices in Scotland, Rachel House in Kinross, and Robin House in Balloch. They also provide care to those at home and in hospital who are unable to attend the hospice.
The children and young people that their incredible team of nurses, physios, support workers, and social workers provide care for, facing a number of devastating life-shortening health conditions including cancer, heart failure, neurological conditions and more.
CHAS believe that no matter how long a young person’s life may be, they deserve for each moment to be filled with as much joy and excitement as possible.
The teams at Soapbox and Pest Solutions are hopeful that our campaign will help contribute in some small way to helping CHAS achieve this goal and will continue to find ways to support CHAS and other local charities in the Glasgow area.
CHAS are only able to do what they do thanks to the support of the general public, with a team of volunteers helping run their hospices and charity shops, and their funding coming in part from the kind contributions of supporters across the globe.
Our Easter egg collection may have ended, but the ways that you can support CHAS remain extensive with each and every penny they receive going towards a fantastic cause. For more information on how you can support CHAS with either a monetary donation or by committing your time to their cause, visit their website https://www.chas.org.uk/get-involved.
Keep an eye out across the Pest Solutions and Soapbox media websites and socials in the weeks and months to come as we continue to do our bit in the community. Both companies regularly attend charity events and support the fundraising efforts of a variety of local organisations, and we are always delighted when our staff, clients, and other local business get involved.
