We have been working closely with the Scottish Law Agents Society for several years now, and are honoured to be trusted with the design and production of the Scottish Law Gazette, one of the country’s most highly respected publications.
Incorporated by a Royal Charter granted by Queen Victoria in 1883, the Scottish Law Agents Society are Scotland’s independent voice for solicitors, and have been publishing the Scottish Law Gazette since all the way back in 1933.
Published quarterly, this journal has become the number source of information and news in the Scottish solicitor sector and retains a mixture of historical, academic and practical articles, alongside contributions from members and industry experts.
It also acts as the society’s means of publishing responses to Government decisions and other consultations.
Since January 2021, the Scottish Law Agents Gazette has been produced exclusively by Soapbox Digital Media, and we are honoured to play a part in the near 100 year history of the journal. Being trusted with the design and production of such a notable and important publication is a huge responsibility, but it is one that the Soapbox team has embraced with gusto and the Gazette swiftly became one of our very favourite projects from the very outset.

What do we do for The Scottish Law Society?
Throughout our 4 year relationship with the Scottish Law Society, we have provided an extensive range of design consultation and printing services, ensuring that proofs are produced swiftly and strike the perfect balance of modernity and tradition.
Having now produced 18 separate editions of the Scottish Law Gazette, our working relationship with the society is excellent, with the entire design, revision, printing and distribution process operating like a well-oiled machine (literally in the case of our state-of-the-art printers!).
We are sent the expert copy and imagery required for each edition and create a custom layout that is in-keeping with their well-established aesthetic whilst harnessing the power of modern design principles and the inspiration of our experienced graphic designers.
Once a proof is approved, we amend any changes that are required and add in all the relevant citations, a task that requires painstaking attention to detail and where mistakes simply aren’t an option. Last minute additions and edits are common, a reflection of the fast-moving nature of the solicitor industry, and we must be quick on our feet to ensure that the final product is exactly what the Law Agents Society requires.
Once all those last details are in place, its time for our printing team to get cracking, creating sleek classic journals printed on our high quality magazine paper and topped off with a stylish gloss cover.
